Lifetime Powertrain Warranty - FAQs

Q. What does a Limited Powertrain Warranty cover?
A. It covers the following:

ENGINE: All internal lubricated parts, timing belt, pulleys and cover; oil pump; water pump; manifolds; harmonic balancer; engine mounts; turbocharger housing, internal parts and vanes. Note: Cases, housings engine block and cylinder heads are only covered if damaged by the failure of an internal lubricated part (excluding turbo).

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION/TRANSFER CASE: All internal lubricated parts, torque converter, vacuum modular.

MANUAL TRANSMISSION/TRANSFER CASE: All internal lubricated parts. Does not include manual clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearings, pilot bearing or bushing, clutch master or slave cylinders.

REAR WHEEL DRIVE: All internal lubricated parts, propeller shafts, supports and U joints, axle shafts and bearings.

FRONT WHEEL DRIVE: All internal lubricated parts, axle shafts, constant velocity joints, front hub bearings.

Q. What are the requirements for the warranty?
A. The only requirement to maintain the warranty is to keep up with the scheduled maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer which can be done at any licensed shop in the United States (we'd LOVE if you returned to Exeter Subaru for maintenance and repairs).

Q. How does the Lifetime Powertrain differ from the factory warranty?
A. The Lifetime Powertrain goes beyond the factory warranty. The vehicle's manufacturer stands behind their vehicle for a certain amount of years/mileage. This warranty will cover parts of the vehicle long after the manufacturer has forgotten about it..

Q. Is the warranty transferable?
A. No, the warranty is only valid for the original purchaser of the vehicle.
