Subtle changes to the Outback were made as the dire need for revision was in the Subaru Legacy. The Outback, always kind of a sister car to the Legacy, took design cues from the Legacy on the exterior giving it a more updated design and improved visibility.
Exterior profiles of the vehicle show little changes. Same ride height and everything.
A small headlight design revision. The "hawk eye" look of the 2014 on the right gets a little more angular and rounded for 2015. It's follows the slope of the Outback body line instead of rising giving the Outback a more aerodynamic look.
Much like the current model Forester, the A-Pillar was moved forward and the side mirror was moved to the door to increase visibility in the front of the vehicle. It also gives the effect of a more open cabin as your view is less obstructed.
Like the head lights, the tail lights get a more narrow and rounded design. The darker red in the tail lights makes them look more modern and is a small touch that give the Outback a new look.
The hatch design and opening remain largely unchanged with the exception of the tail light housing. The opening and gate are very similar in size. The 2015 receives an update to include the optional power lift gate.
Also updated for 2015, the wheels on the Limited's get their own design that is different than the Alloy Wheel Package and Premium trim's. The new design helps the higher trim level stand out amongst the crowd with its stylish black accents.
The back up camera is now standard across all 2015 Subaru Outback models. From the 2.5i to the 3.6R Limited, no moonroof package required.
