From the bumper to bumper, roof to wheels, the 2015 Subaru WRX was completely redesigned on the exterior. It does appear to be a less aggressive design compared to the outgoing even wider body design of the Impreza WRX, but you still know it's a WRX that's in front of you.
You'll notice first and foremost that we're not comparing a sedan with a sedan, but that's for a reason. The 2015 Subaru WRX doesn't currently come in the hatchback variety, for now.
The body may have a more subtle sport approach, but no one told the front bumper that. People often say "it looks like it's moving fast even when it's standing still." It takes the standard Impreza front end and puts it on steroids as you can see front the headlight/fog light assembly.
New rim designs make an appearance for the 2015 Subaru WRX. The old model had one set of rims across all trims and options, the new model comes with the matte black rims on the left or a STI 15-spoke 17" gloss black set as part of the WRX Sport Package (not shown).
Even though we're comparing a hatchback to a sedan, we can tell you that the 2015 Subaru WRX has improved cargo and interior volume over the previous model sedan. The 2015 also receives a nice rear diffuser between the quad-tip exhaust outlets for a more sporty appearance.
There isn't just a change in the hood (wider and lower hood scoop, improving visibility and air flow), but there is also a change underneath. The previous model contains the 2.5 liter turbo producing 265 horsepower, while the new engine in the 2015 contains a 2.0 liter turbo producing 268 horsepower.
